Tourisme Laurentides is a regional tourism association in the Laurentians (Quebec) that was founded in 1975 as a private, non-profit corporation based on voluntary membership. With decades of history and expertise, the organization has become a driving force behind the growth of the Laurentians’ tourism industry, uniting stakeholders in a spirit of cooperation and innovation to enrich the region’s tourism fabric. Its core mission is to guide and stimulate the development of the destination while contributing to the region’s economic prosperity. Tourisme Laurentides represents and advocates for the interests of its member businesses, showcases the Laurentians’ rich attractions, and actively markets the region’s tourism offerings. It also plays a central role in providing visitor reception and information services, ensuring a high-quality and cohesive experience for tourists. Moreover, in partnership with governmental and industry collaborators, the association works to steer and encourage sustainable, strategically planned tourism development in line with provincial priorities for responsible tourism. Recognized by the Québec Ministry of Tourism as the official representative of the tourism sector in the Laurentians, Tourisme Laurentides is part of the province’s network of regional tourism organizations and a member of the Quebec tourism industry alliance, underscoring its authoritative role in the region.

As the designated agent for various tourism support funding programs, Tourisme Laurentides oversees the delivery of financial assistance initiatives aimed at bolstering tourism development in the region. These funding programs enable local organizations and businesses to carry out innovative, high-impact projects that benefit the industry. Broadly, the supported initiatives seek to strengthen the vitality and resilience of tourism enterprises and communities, while promoting sustainable and innovative practices. For instance, the funds may support projects encouraging the adoption of circular economy principles or the adaptation of facilities to climate change impacts, thus fostering a more responsible tourism that benefits local communities. Another key objective is to diversify and enhance the Laurentians’ tourism offerings year-round by spurring the creation of four-season attractions, the digital transformation of tourism businesses, the growth of festivals and signature events, and the improvement of hospitality infrastructures. These priorities reflect government objectives to diversify the tourism product, advance sustainable and responsible development, and drive innovation in the sector. Through its management of these support programs, Tourisme Laurentides actively facilitates the realization of structuring projects that strengthen the Laurentians’ position as a dynamic, competitive tourism destination with a forward-looking approach.
