What else should I know about FABrIC?
FABrIC (Fabrication of Integrated Components for the Internet’s Edge) is a pan-Canadian innovation network accelerating semiconductor manufacturing processes and made-in-Canada IoT products. Supported by the Government of Canada and delivered by CMC Microsystems, FABrIC galvanizes strengths in photonics, MEMS, compound semiconductors and quantum technology to accelerate commercialization and strengthen supply chains. Members gain low-cost access to specialized design and fabrication tools, shared university micro-/nano-technology facilities across Canada, and supplier partnerships for multi-project wafer (MPW) and fabrication services. Membership is free for industry, non-profits, government agencies and Canadian post-secondary researchers and students. Through Challenge funding streams and programs such as MicroFAB and the Quantum Computing Sandbox, FABrIC helps startups, SMEs, researchers and industry teams prototype, validate and move market-ready innovations forward. Training, reskilling and ecosystem events connect talent and partners nationwide—through bilingual operations.
