The Sustainable Development Support Program for Mining Sector Companies — Stream D offers up to $50,000 to support the implementation of necessary traceability systems in Quebec's mining sector. The program aims to enhance sustainable practices and includes funding for professional fees, travel, studies, and project management.

Financing terms and conditions

  • Subsidy is capped at 50,000 CAD per activity for Stream D.
  • The financial aid covers a maximum of 80% of the eligible expenses.
  • Beneficiaries must finance the remaining portion of the project costs not covered by the subsidy.
  • Funds will be disbursed in two installments: an initial installment of up to 60% after the signing of the grant agreement, and a final installment of up to 40% following the approval of the final project report by the MRNF.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must have at least one establishment located in Quebec.
  • Eligible applicants include mining exploration companies, their service providers, mining operation companies, horticultural peat operation companies, and non-profit organizations operating in the mining sector.
  • The applicant must not be a government ministry or budgetary organization.
  • The applicant must not be registered in the Register of companies ineligible for public contracts (RENA) or be a subcontractor registered with RENA.
  • The applicant must not have previously failed to meet obligations after being duly reminded in relation to the granting of previous financial aid by a Quebec government ministry or organization.
  • The applicant must not be insolvent, bankrupt, or have made a proposal under bankruptcy or insolvency laws.
  • The applicant must demonstrate high standards of integrity expected from recipients of public funds.
  • The project must be necessary and prior to the implementation of an MCS traceability system.
  • The project must be undertaken in Quebec and completed between January 1, 2024, and March 31, 2026.
  • The applicant must submit a grant application form along with all required documents, such as a detailed project description, budget, schedule, partners, and the expertise of professionals.

  • Applicants who have failed to respect obligations after being duly notified about previous financial assistance granted by a ministry or governmental body of Quebec.
  • Applicants who are insolvent, bankrupt, or have filed a proposal under a bankruptcy or insolvency law.
  • Applicants not meeting high integrity standards expected from a beneficiary of public funds.

  • Professional fees related to the project.
  • Travel expenses, not exceeding the standards set by the Quebec public service.
