The Sustainable Development Support Program for Mining Sector Companies — Stream A provides funding of up to $20,000 or 75% of eligible expenses to support mining exploration companies and their service providers in obtaining UL ECOLOGO® certification. Eligible activities include external audit fees and governance training costs related to the certification process.

- Financing covers up to 80% of eligible expenses depending on the project type.
- The maximum subsidy per beneficiary is the lesser of $20,000 or 75% of the project's eligible expenses.
- The beneficiary is responsible for financing the remainder of the investments.
- Each beneficiary can participate only once in this Stream A of the Program.
- The subsidy is provided in a single payment following the signing of the ministerial announcement letter.
- The total financial aid from all sources must not exceed 90% of the eligible expenses.
- Public financial assistance is calculated at 100% of its value, whether refundable or not, when determining the financial aid cumulative rate.
- The beneficiary is required to fund a minimum portion of the project's expenses to ensure that government aids do not cover the entirety of eligible project costs.
- Financial aid from entities like the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Farm Credit Canada (FCC) and La Financière agricole du Québec (FADQ) are considered private contributions unless at market conditions.

- Applicant must be a registered mining exploration company or a service provider within the mining exploration sector.
- The applicant must have at least one establishment located in Quebec.
- Project must involve the completion of the UL ECOLOGO® certification audit for UL 2723 (mining exploration companies) or UL 2724 (service providers in mining exploration).
- Project must be realized between January 1, 2022, and January 31, 2026.
- Eligible expenses must be necessary, justifiable, and directly attributable to the project, and approved by the MRNF.
- Expenses are only eligible from April 1, 2021, if not previously claimed under other related government programs.

- Registration costs for the governance training.
- Travel expenses to attend the governance training, which cannot exceed the standards in the Quebec public service.

- The grant allows for the combination with other financial support from other government ministries or agencies (provincial or federal) and municipal entities, with a cumulative limit not exceeding 90% of the eligible expenses.
- The total grant amount will be the lesser of either $20,000 or 75% of the eligible project's expenses, depending on the type of project presented.
- Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the program's budget is fully allocated.
- Eligible projects must have been completed between January 1, 2022, and January 31, 2026, with the necessary documentation reflecting this timeline.
- The Ministry reserves the right to limit the number of selected applications based on budget constraints and available funding.
- Subsidies awarded under the program must be clearly credited to the Government of Quebec in any related publications or promotional materials.
- The Ministry reserves the right to reclaim any part of the granted subsidy if the beneficiary does not adhere to the program’s stipulated obligations or if false information was provided during application.
