The Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) offers up to $5,000 in funding to Ontario-based, for-profit SMEs to adopt and implement digital technologies, hardware, and software. The grant supports direct-to-consumer businesses with a physical storefront, such as retailers and restaurants, aiming to enhance digital capabilities and streamline operations.

Eligibility criteria of the Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) program

  • Must be an Ontario-based for-profit business.
  • Must have been in operation for at least 1 year.
  • Must have at least $100,000 in annual revenue.
  • Must employ between 1 and 50 employees.
  • Must be a direct-to-consumer business with a physical storefront (e.g., retail, restaurants, food services, professional services such as hairstyling or florists).

Who is not eligible

  • Companies without a physical storefront (such as purely online businesses).
  • Businesses not based in Ontario.
  • Non-profit organizations.
  • Companies with more than 50 employees.
  • Businesses applying to both the DMAP and RMPG programs simultaneously.

  • DCC facilitates partnerships between SMEs and Ontario-based technology firms for digital solution adoption.
