Overview of the Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) program
The Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) offers up to $5,000 in funding to Ontario-based, for-profit SMEs to adopt and implement digital technologies, hardware, and software. The grant supports direct-to-consumer businesses with a physical storefront, such as retailers and restaurants, aiming to enhance digital capabilities and streamline operations.

Eligibility criteria of the Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) program
- Must be an Ontario-based for-profit business.
- Must have been in operation for at least 1 year.
- Must have at least $100,000 in annual revenue.
- Must employ between 1 and 50 employees.
- Must be a direct-to-consumer business with a physical storefront (e.g., retail, restaurants, food services, professional services such as hairstyling or florists).

Who is not eligible
- Companies without a physical storefront (such as purely online businesses).
- Businesses not based in Ontario.
- Non-profit organizations.
- Companies with more than 50 employees.
- Businesses applying to both the DMAP and RMPG programs simultaneously.

How to apply to the Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) program

Verify eligibility criteria
- Check if your business is an Ontario-based, for-profit company with 1-50 employees
- Ensure your business has at least one year of operation and $100K in annual revenue
- Confirm your business is direct-to-consumer with a physical storefront

- Determine whether to apply for the Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG) or the Digital Modernization & Adoption Plan (DMAP), as you cannot apply for both

- Funding is provided on a first-come, first-served basis while resources last.
- Applicants may only apply to either the Digital Modernization & Adoption Plan (DMAP) or the Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG), but not both.
- Educational webinars, information sessions, and free digital transformation toolkits are available to support applicants.
- DCC facilitates partnerships between SMEs and Ontario-based technology firms for digital solution adoption.
