Overview

The PISAQ – Stream 2 grant offers up to $30,000 per project, covering up to 80% of eligible expenses, to strengthen the expertise of veterinary health professionals in Quebec. Funding supports activities such as developing and updating training programs, creating informational tools, disseminating scientific advancements, and supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must have an active establishment located in Quebec.
  • Eligible applicants include research centres, educational institutions, non-profit organizations dedicated to knowledge transfer in the agricultural and agri-food sector, animal health and welfare expertise centres in the agri-food domain, associations of veterinary professionals, veterinary establishments, and individual veterinarians.
  • The project must begin within three months of the funding application and be completed no later than February 15, 2028.
  • The project must aim to increase the expertise of veterinary health professionals in relation to eligible animal species and themes such as biosafety, responsible antibiotic use, animal welfare, veterinary telemedicine, or priority animal health issues.

  • Expenditures for disseminating information on advanced technologies and scientific developments.
  • Costs associated with support activities aimed at sustaining and developing the veterinary health workforce, such as mentorship, co-development, and communities of practice.

  • Applications and projects are reviewed by a selection committee comprised of representatives of the Minister.

  • Step 4: Await Selection Committee ReviewYour submission will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of ministry representatives.
