Eligible applicants are those who meet all the program's eligibility criteria and belong to Canadian interests, including:- Canadian broadcasters- Canadian promoters- Canadian performing venuesAdditionally, applicants with predominantly French-language content must apply to Musicaction, while those with predominantly English-language content should apply to FACTOR.

This grant excludes various types of companies and industries primarily based on their ownership, capacity, and line of business. The restrictions are in place to ensure that the funds are provided to entities that align with the grant's objective of promoting Canadian professional artists.

  • Foreign music companies and their associations operating in Canada.
  • Performing venues with a capacity exceeding 800 seats.
  • Venues operating exclusively on a rental model.
  • Companies whose main programming does not feature individual artists or aid in developing Canadian artists' careers, such as musical comedies, tribute shows, DJ performances, dinner-shows, charity or corporate events, etc.
  • Performing venues affiliated with a city/municipality.

  • Artist managers and booking agents.
  • Music festivals.
  • Businesses that have received funding from FACTOR or Musicaction in 2024-2025.
  • Organizations receiving funding from the Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF) for the 2024-2025 financial year.
  • Service companies specializing in lighting, sound, etc., and those at the periphery of the performing arts industry in Canada, such as transportation, catering, security, ticketing companies, etc.
