Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Existing wine grape growers in British Columbia farming over 2.47 acres of perennial crops.
- Land owners or lessees applying to replant existing acreage with new vineyards.
- Applicants in good standing with the BC Wine Grape Council, with all levies paid on fruit grown in the previous year, except for Vancouver Island growers.
Who is not eligible
- Annual crop producers, forage producers, non-commercial producers, and farmland outside of BC.
- Producers in sectors that do not have an opportunity assessment completed and pre-approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
- Producers who do not meet stream-specific criteria.
- Applicants with an active project under the Perennial Crop Renewal Program (PCRP) (2023-2025).
Eligible expenses
- Nursery stock plant costs.
- One-time licensing or plant royalty fees.
- Producer-to-producer sales, including rootstock, scion, and plants.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Fields replanted that do not meet the contiguous 0.5 acre minimum, including fields in different locations with different PIDs, separated planting areas on the same PID that do not touch, or areas separated by a paved road or highway.
- Interplanting in existing orchards or vineyards.
- New plantings, including farm expansions and crops established on bare land or land previously used for non-perennial or non-food perennial crops.
- Home nurseries and home nursery plant stock material, including the cost of growing plants.
- GST, in-kind expenses, taxes and duty or shipping costs, other planting or removal costs such as rental of equipment, purchase of posts and wire, labour, and ongoing annual royalty payments.
- Replanting tree fruits with wine grapes, and planting Grenache or Mourvèdre for cost-sharing.

Selection criteria
- Confirmed plant order for all fields at the time of application.
- Enrollment in Production Insurance.
- Enrollment in AgriStability or vertical integration that makes the applicant ineligible for AgriStability.
- A current Environmental Farm Plan, or one in process of renewal or application.
- For Stream 2, fields being replanted must be cover cropped or left fallow for at least 12 months before planting, and the applicant must be a Sustainable Wine BC member or have completed the SWBC online self-assessment; funding is awarded to high-scoring applicants first until allocations are fully committed.
How to apply
- Create a personal profile and register your organization in the IAF Client Portal.
- Select Enhanced Replant Program from Funding Opportunities and enter the required applicant, project, and budget details.
- Complete and submit the AF Demographic Survey and enter the confirmation number in the application.
- Upload the required supporting documents, including the confirmed plant order, and review the terms and conditions.
- Save and close the application, then click Submit from the review screen when applications are being accepted.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are screened and reviewed by IAF and may be reviewed by a technical expert.
- Ten per cent of eligible applications are selected for further audit and review by an Accredited Professional, and additional information may be requested.
- Applicants are notified by email within 8 weeks of a completed application submission, and all funding decisions are final.
- Applicants without a confirmed plant order may receive conditional funding approval for 60 days, and failure to submit an order confirmation will cancel the approval.
- Successful applicants must complete the project and submit a project report and/or pass an on-site field inspection before payment.
