Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Books, recreational items, and seasonal decorations are ineligible for assistance
  • Basic and essential items only will be considered for assistance under the DFA program

  • Specified geographic area named in the disaster financial assistance program

How to apply

  • The claimant must file a claim with the Emergency Management Organization on or before the published deadline.
  • The claim must be made in writing on a form approved by the Emergency Management Organization.
  • The co-ordinator may extend the claim deadline if extenuating circumstances prevented filing on time.

Processing and Agreement

  • Application is first screened for eligibility
  • An inspection may be arranged if the claim may qualify
  • The claim is evaluated after inspection to determine assistance
  • A written decision is issued, including payment details and appeal rights
  • Appeals may be submitted in writing within 60 days
