Eligible expenses
- Disaster response, recovery, and mitigation costs

- Temporary access, security, and stabilization work
- Initial and additional repair payments tied to verified losses
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Books, recreational items, and seasonal decorations are ineligible for assistance
- Basic and essential items only will be considered for assistance under the DFA program

- Specified geographic area named in the disaster financial assistance program
How to apply
- The claimant must file a claim with the Emergency Management Organization on or before the published deadline.
- The claim must be made in writing on a form approved by the Emergency Management Organization.
- The co-ordinator may extend the claim deadline if extenuating circumstances prevented filing on time.
Processing and Agreement
- Application is first screened for eligibility
- An inspection may be arranged if the claim may qualify
- The claim is evaluated after inspection to determine assistance
- A written decision is issued, including payment details and appeal rights
- Appeals may be submitted in writing within 60 days
