Eligible expenses

- Fees for professional services from consultants, experts, and external training providers to implement recommendations.
- Travel, accommodation, and daily allowances for external consultants and experts when on-site visits are required.

Selection criteria

- The project has the potential to transform the applicant's operations and enhance digital capacities.
- The applicant has developed a plan to measure the project's impact.
- The project will improve the applicant's ability to serve Indigenous, Northern, under-represented, or marginalized communities.

- A reasonable budget and a realistic work plan are presented.
How to apply
Preliminary Registration
- Create an account on the Canada Council for the Arts portal.
- Register your organization if not already registered, ensuring all profiles are validated (this can take up to 15 days).
Prepare Application Documents
- Ensure you have a completed evaluation, review, or digital plan with recommendations supported by an external expert.
- Gather necessary documentation, including a detailed project proposal, budget, timeline, and letters of support from partners if applicable.
Complete the Application Form
- Use the portal to access the application form.
- Fill in all required sections including a brief description of the initiative, recommendations, proposed activities, expected impacts, and identification of external experts or service providers.
- Provide information on groups or organizations involved, if it is a collaborative project.
Submit Application
- Upload the required documents including the evaluation or digital plan and partner commitment letters through the portal.
- Carefully review all entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Submit the application through the portal before the start date of your project.
Confirmation and Follow-up
- Receive an automated confirmation of submission.
- Keep track of your application status through the portal.

Here are additional relevant details for this grant:
- The application can be submitted at any time before the start date of the project.
- The validation of the profile in the portal may take up to 15 working days.
- Candidates can submit up to two applications per year for this component, but a new application may only be submitted after receiving the results for the previous one.
- This grant does not count towards the number of project grants required to obtain a core or composite grant from the Canada Council for the Arts.
- A final report must be submitted within three months following the conclusion of the proposed activities.
- If selected, a Grant Acceptance Form must be completed to receive funds.
- An internal or external assessment committee evaluates the application based on weighted criteria: relevance, impact, and feasibility.
