Who is eligible?

  • Canadian not-for-profit organizations
  • Indigenous governments (First Nation, Inuit or Métis), including Band Councils and self-government entities
  • Canadian academic and research institutions
  • Provincial, territorial, and local governments and authorities
  • Canadian for-profit organizations

Eligible expenses

  • Salaries and wages for personnel directly assigned to the project.
  • Office equipment and minor capital acquisitions (up to $10,000 per item), as well as program supplies and materials.
  • Travel and living expenses for staff delivering the project, following government travel directives.
  • Development of training manuals and procedures.
  • Professional and consulting fees associated with the project, including accounting fees for audited financial statements.
  • Computer services, library expenses, research costs—including data access and analysis fees, electronic subscriptions, and publications.
  • Translation and live interpretation costs.
  • Shipping, postage, printing, and distribution expenses.
  • Meals and refreshments for participants in project-related activities and workshops, according to applicable government guidelines.
  • Administrative expenses required for project management, up to 15% of total annual project funding where not included elsewhere, and supported by reasonable methodology.
