Eligibility
- The applicant must be a member of the CRITM.
- The project must be connected to one or more CRITM research axes such as transformation processes, advanced metallic product design, ecological footprint reduction, or digital innovation.
- The application must be submitted by an SME with 250 employees or less, incorporated under federal or Quebec laws, registered with the Quebec enterprise registrar, and having a business presence and activities in Quebec.
- The SME must be able to cover 50% of the eligible project costs and demonstrate growth potential, providing financial statements for the last two years and a business plan alongside the letter of intent.
- All project partners must become members of the CRITM for the project's duration.
- The project must have a minimum of two business partners, including at least one SME.
- The applicant must submit a letter of engagement from partners detailing their contribution and anticipated outcomes.

- Regular members of the Consortium de recherche et d'innovation en transformation métallique (CRITM)
- Companies involved in the transformation of metals such as steel, aluminum, and other critical and strategic minerals
- Businesses in sectors including Extraction and Concentration, Primary Production, First, Second, and Third Transformation, Finished Products, and Metal Recycling
- Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with 250 employees or less, incorporated under federal or Quebec laws, registered in Québec's businesses registrar, and operating production and/or R&D activities in Quebec
Eligible geographic areas
- Companies with a place of business in the Province of Quebec, Canada.
How to apply

Declaration of Intent
- Prepare and submit a letter of intent before the deadline of March 20, 2025.
- Include preliminary project details for initial assessment.

Preparation of the complete application
- Develop the complete application with proof of support from the SME member of the CRITM.
- Include the financial statements from the last two years and a business plan outlining the planned deployment of the developed technology.

Submission of the complete request
- Send the complete application before May 16, 2025.
- Provide all required information according to the guidelines of the INNOV-R SME applicant guide.

Follow-up and confirmation
- Wait for the confirmation of receipt and preliminary approval from CRITM.
- Establish a partnership agreement on intellectual property management with all partners, to be completed within three months following approval.
Additional information
- The CRITM offers assistance to applicants to validate their proposals and simulate budgets to align with program standards.
- The CRITM does not claim intellectual property rights for funded projects but requires an agreement on IP management among partners.
- An intellectual property management agreement must be signed with all partners within three months of official confirmation (or six months in some cases).
