How to apply

  • Step 1: Read the program guidelines
    • Review the eligibility, project, expense, and matching requirements.
  • Step 2: Register for Front Office access
    • Register at least 10 business days before the Expression of Interest deadline.
    • Use the registration process provided by Community Grants.
  • Step 3: Submit the Expression of Interest
    • Complete and submit the EOI online through GATE Front Office.
  • Step 4: Submit the full application if invited
    • Complete the full application package in GATE Front Office.
    • Upload the required supporting documents and confirmations.

Processing and Agreement

  • Expression of Interest is reviewed first for eligibility and readiness
  • Eligible projects may be invited to submit a full application
  • Applications are reviewed against program criteria and supporting documents
  • Applicants receive written notification by email
  • Approved applicants must sign a formal grant agreement before funding is released

Additional information

  • Applicants may receive full, reduced, or no funding.
  • Only one capital project application is allowed per year.
  • Funding decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
  • Approved recipients must acknowledge the Government of Alberta.
