Canada Council for the Arts —

• Funding of up to $100,000 per year for projects, for a maximum of 3 years.
• Total financial assistance can reach up to $300,000 over the duration of the grant.

• The applicant must be a Canadian artist, arts or cultural worker, artistic group, or organization.
• The project must involve multiple, large, or complex activities to be carried out over a period of up to 3 years.
• The proposed activities must support the artistic process, publication, innovation, public engagement, or market development for Canadian arts.

Eligible expenses

• Salaries and fees for artists, artistic groups, and cultural workers directly involved in activities.
• Costs for residencies, including associated travel and accommodation.
• Expenses related to research, including artistic or sector-based research.
• Publication costs for literary books and magazines authored by Canadian writers.
• Organizational development expenses, including professional development and training for artists and arts workers.
• Costs related to knowledge-sharing events or forums.
• Expenses for audience and market development, both in Canada and abroad.
• Production, representation, or management service fees for Canadian artists, groups, or organizations.

• The Canada Council is transitioning to a new funding portal, with the current portal becoming unavailable starting May 26, 2025.
• The updated portal and this grant component will only be available after the new system is launched in summer 2025.
