Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Not-for-profit arts presenter organizations
  • Provincial, territorial, or municipal institutions
  • Indigenous institutions and organizations

Who is not eligible

  • For-profit businesses.
  • Organizations without a professional arts presentation focus.
  • Projects such as book fairs, galas, competitions, receptions, hospitality events, tours, infrastructure projects, deficit reduction plans, feasibility studies, and literary or media arts series.
  • Projects already funded under Building Communities through Arts and Heritage.
  • Projects focused on Canada Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, or Canadian Multiculturalism Day celebrations.

Eligible expenses

  • Artist selection costs, fees, per diems, accommodation, and domestic travel.
  • Administrative and presenting salaries or fees.
  • Marketing and promotion costs, including social media.
  • Venue rental, technical, front-of-house, and administration costs.
  • Community engagement, volunteer, training, and professional development costs.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Book fairs, galas, competitions, receptions, and hospitality.
  • Tours, self-presentation, and creation or production activities.
  • Infrastructure projects, including specialized equipment purchases.
  • Canada Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, and Canadian Multiculturalism Day celebrations.
  • Deficit reduction plans, capital projects, feasibility studies, literary reading series, and film, video, or media arts series.
