Who is eligible?
- Professional artists in CALQ-supported disciplines.
- Independent curators in visual arts, arts and crafts, architectural research, digital arts, and film and video art.

- Corporations and partnerships, except for personal projects unrelated to their activities.
- Non-profit organizations, except for personal projects unrelated to the organization’s activities.

- Travel-related costs such as visas, vaccinations, and insurance.
- Translation fees for work excerpts.
- Shipping costs for equipment required for the project.

- Remuneration and professional fees.
- Production, presentation, and administration expenses.
- Transportation and crating fees for works.
- Registration or presentation expenses for a promotional presentation or conference.
- Travel and living costs already covered by another source of funding.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are evaluated on merit against the program objectives and criteria.
- The CALQ may use external assessors when needed.
- Applicants are informed of the decision about eight weeks after submission.
- If approved, a confirmation letter and grant terms are issued.
- Decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
Additional information
- Applicants can submit up to five separate applications and receive a maximum of five grants per CALQ fiscal year (April 1 to March 31).
- Applicants may not have more than three projects being considered, supported, or underway simultaneously.
- If you have previously received CALQ funding, approved Grant Use Reports are required for completed projects before submitting new applications.
- All applications must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the project start date; the submission date is confirmed by online or WeTransfer receipt.
