The B.C. Employer Training Grant provides up to $300,000 in funding per employer annually to support skills training for current and prospective employees. The program is designed to help businesses adapt to changing labour market demands by subsidizing training activities that lead to increased job security or better employment opportunities.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a small, medium, or large enterprise based in British Columbia.
- The company must create and use a Business BCeID account to submit its application.
- The application must be submitted directly by the employer; third parties cannot apply on behalf of an employer.
- The training project must support skills development resulting in increased job security or a better job for current employees, or a job for an unemployed person.
- The employer must contribute a portion of the training costs and submit a reimbursement claim after training has started.

- Companies seeking to fund diploma or degree programs, in full or in part.
- Employers wishing to apply through a third party, as applications must be submitted by the employer directly.

- Businesses located in the province of British Columbia.
Selection criteria
- Priority is given to first-time applicants.
- Preference for small businesses.
- Applications from regions and industries facing the highest challenges in acquiring skilled workers are prioritized.

Create a Business BCeID Account
Register for a Business BCeID to access online government services securely.

Identify Training Needs and Providers
Determine which employees need training and choose a suitable training provider.

Apply Online
- Use your Business BCeID to log into the ETG’s Skills Training Grants System.
- Complete and submit the online application using the system.

Await Decision
- Most applications are processed within two weeks.
- Training can commence prior to receiving a decision, but note the risk of bearing full costs if denied.

Begin Training
Start the training as planned, ensuring it aligns with the approved application.

Submit Reimbursement Claim
- Submit a claim for reimbursement within 30 days after the training starts.
- Ensure all documentation is provided to support the claim.
Additional information
- Employers must use their own Business BCeID account for all applications; third-party applications are not accepted.
- Participants need to submit their individual information forms prior to the employer’s application submission.
- Priority is given to first-time applicants, small businesses, and sectors or regions facing significant labour market challenges.
- Employers must pay training costs upfront and submit a reimbursement claim within 30 days after training begins.
