Overview of the Agricultural and Sector Show Support Program – Stream 2 program
The Agricultural and Sector Show Support Program – Stream 2 provides up to $30,000 per applicant per fiscal year (up to $90,000 over the program’s duration) to support projects that increase public interest in the agri-food sector and encourage youth involvement in agriculture. Eligible activities include educational, interactive, or demonstration events conducted during agricultural exhibitions.
Financing terms and conditions
- Financial assistance covers up to 80% of eligible project expenses.
- Funding is capped at $30,000 per applicant per financial year.
- The maximum total funding per applicant is $90,000 for the duration of the program.
- Eligible costs for materials and equipment purchases, design, or adaptation are limited to 50% of the financial aid received.

Eligibility criteria of the Agricultural and Sector Show Support Program – Stream 2 program
- The applicant must be an agricultural exhibition or the Association des expositions agricoles du Québec.
- The project must be undertaken for the first time by the applicant.
- The project must be conducted during an agricultural exhibition.
- The project must aim to increase public interest in the agri-food sector or encourage youth involvement in agriculture.
- The project must include educational, interactive, or demonstration activities.

- Agricultural fairs
- The Association of Agricultural Exhibitions of Quebec
Who is not eligible
- Companies and organizations that are not agricultural fairs or the Association des expositions agricoles du Québec.
Eligible expenses
- Professional fees for contractors.
- Portion of salaries and benefits for staff or partners directly involved in the project (up to the portion justified or equivalent to 26% of salary, or another amount justified by accounting demonstration).
- Advertising and communication expenses.
- Purchase, design, or adaptation of materials and equipment (covered up to 50% of the financial aid granted).
- Rental costs for venues, machinery, materials, or equipment.
- Travel and accommodation expenses for applicants, partners, or contractors (within government-permitted rates).

- Step 1: Prepare Project ProposalDefine the project's objectives aligned with promoting the agri-food sector and encouraging youth interest in agricultural succession.
- Ensure the project includes educational, interactive, or demonstrative activities and is conducted during an agricultural exhibition.
- Step 2: Identify Eligible ExpensesDetail eligible costs, such as contractor fees, a portion of staff salaries and benefits, advertising and communication costs, equipment/material acquisition or adaptation (up to 50% of funding), venue/machinery/equipment rentals, and travel/lodging expenses within established government limits.
- Step 3: Complete Application FormAccess and fill out the official application form provided by the funding authority.
- Attach a detailed budget and supporting documents that substantiate your planned activities and expenses.
- Step 4: Submit ApplicationSend the completed application form and supporting documents to the appropriate fund provider as specified in the program guidelines.
- Step 5: Await AcknowledgmentReceive confirmation or acknowledgment of receipt from the funding body after your application is submitted.
Additional information
- Eligible expenditures related to material and equipment are capped at 50% of the financial aid granted.
- Social charges and benefits for personnel can be claimed up to 26% of salary, unless justified otherwise through a detailed accounting demonstration.
- Travel and accommodation expenses must not exceed the current rates established by the public service.
