About Agriculture for Life
What is the mission of Agriculture for Life?
Agriculture for Life's mission is to strengthen Alberta agriculture by advancing education, farm safety, career awareness, workforce development, and public understanding of the agri-food sector.
What else should I know about Agriculture for Life?
Agriculture for Life plays a practical funding role in Alberta by linking agriculture education, workforce awareness and employer capacity-building. Through the Addressing the Agriculture Labour Task Force Grant Program, it supports projects that increase public and job-seeker awareness of agriculture and agri-food careers, while also helping producers and processors improve human-resource practices, recruitment and retention. That makes the organization more than an awareness body: it acts as a bridge between public education, industry labour needs and direct project funding. In the funding ecosystem, this matters because agricultural businesses often face labour shortages, rural recruitment challenges and limited internal HR capacity. Ag for Life grants help convert sector-wide workforce priorities into local campaigns, training supports and employer-led initiatives that can make the industry more visible, resilient and better prepared for long-term growth.
