Eligible expenses
- Wages and benefits for the hired youth participant.
- Round-trip travel between the youth's residence and place of work.
- Accommodation support for youth who live more than 125 kilometres from their place of work.
- Special accommodations or wrap-around supports in the workplace for youth with a disability or youth facing barriers to employment.
Selection criteria
- Overall project objectives, including Canadian Heritage objectives, Official Languages objectives, and benefits for youth, the institution, the community, the region, or the country.
- Project planning, including a clear project description, measurable results, a clear job description, and a work plan with tasks and deadlines.
- Skills development and job parameters, including career-oriented skills development, practical work experience, an appropriate salary, and a credible budget.
- Recruitment and supervision, including a planned transparent selection and interview process, measures for employment equity groups, and adequate guidance, supervision, and professional support.
- Official languages contribution, including support for official-language minority communities, linguistic duality, and any specific regional criteria established by the fund redistribution organization.
How to apply

- Follow the step-by-step instructions to ensure that all required information is included.
- Submit the application through the YCW portal to the delivery organization responsible for your region for evaluation.
Processing and Agreement
- The fund redistribution organization will acknowledge receipt of the application within five business days of the application deadline.
- Applications are reviewed and evaluated by the fund redistribution organization.
- If approved, the employer will receive an email confirmation and a preliminary offer.
- If refused, the employer will receive written notification.
- Application approval takes a minimum of two months following the application deadline.

- Positions last from 6 to 16 weeks.
- Requests for funding typically exceed available resources, and meeting eligibility criteria does not guarantee funding.
