Overview

Get a wage subsidy to cover 50% of the costs of paying a summer student to work 30–40 hours a week for 16 weeks, if you operate a for-profit business.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages (employers) grant are as follows: - Employer must be a private, public, non-profit organization, or a municipality. - The organization must be incorporated. - Involved in national, provincial, territorial, municipal, or community activities. - Conducting activities in both official languages. - Must be financially stable and healthy. Employers that are federal departments, federal agencies, Crown Corporations, provincial or territorial government departments are not eligible for this grant.

a federal department, federal agency or Crown Corporation; or a provincial or territorial government department.

Eligible expenses

- Salary subsidies - Transportation costs for one round trip between the student's permanent residence and workplace - Accommodation allowance for housing costs incurred by a participant who has to pay rent
