Overview
The Transit Shelter Advertising Program offers non-profit arts, culture, and community service organizations in Vancouver free access to high-visibility transit shelter advertising space to promote public events and services. While the program does not offer direct funding, it covers advertising space costs for eligible projects that inform or raise awareness city-wide, with up to 20 shelter faces available per campaign for a maximum period of six weeks.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a non-profit arts, culture, or community service organization registered as a non-profit society in British Columbia.
- The organization must be based and active in Vancouver.
- The organization must provide programming, activities, or services that are open to the public and publicized city-wide.
- The activities or services being promoted must take place within the City of Vancouver.
- Eligible projects include those that provide program information, raise awareness of a service being provided, or raise awareness of charitable activities.

Who is not eligible
- Organizations representing amateur or professional sports without an artistic or cultural focus.
- Educational institutions that do not have an artistic or cultural focus.
- Businesses or for-profit entities (only non-profit societies are eligible).
Eligible expenses
- No financial expenses are covered by this program. Organizations are responsible for all costs associated with the design, production, printing, and delivery of the advertising posters.
Eligible geographic areas
- Organizations based and active in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Selection criteria
- Priority is given to arts and cultural organizations over non-arts organizations.
- Organizations funded by the City of Vancouver receive priority over other non-profit arts or cultural organizations.
- Applications from community service organizations are considered after arts and cultural organizations have been accommodated.
- Campaigns associated with a specific time frame, show, or event are prioritized over general awareness or informational campaigns.
- Campaigns with a duration shorter than four weeks are given lower priority due to operational processes.
How to apply

Gather and organize application information
- Prepare required information: organization name, address, contact, campaign details
- Decide desired campaign dates (Monday to Sunday)
- Indicate interest in digital display if applicable

Submit your application by email
- Email the application to tsavanlive@vancouver.ca
- Submit at least four months before desired campaign start date
- Ensure the email includes all required details

Await confirmation and notification
- The City tentatively books spaces upon application receipt
- Staff review application approximately three months prior
- Notification of acceptance and space allotment is sent via email

Design and submit campaign poster for approval
- Design campaign poster following specifications
- Obtain approval from Cultural Services by submitting PDF or JPEG
- Ensure City of Vancouver emblem or acknowledgment text is included in the design

Produce and deliver campaign posters
- Print posters according to Outfront Media's standards
- Supply the required overrun quantity based on campaign length
- Deliver finished posters to Outfront Media by the specified deadline
Additional information
- Organizations are responsible for all design, production, and delivery costs of the posters; only the advertising space is provided without charge.
- Digital display participation must be expressly requested in the application; digital boards are available as a pilot project.
- All campaigns must include proper recognition of the City of Vancouver, either through the emblem or supporting text, on the poster artwork.
- Typically, organizations can expect to receive 10 spaces for a 4-week period and may apply twice per calendar year.
