Application Guidelines Updated for 2026 Intake
The Application Guidelines for the Projects component, Anti-Racism Call now show a solicited intake window from July 3, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. ET to September 8, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. ET, replacing the prior 2024 deadline language. The objective and priorities were refocused toward collaborative initiatives, youth, and rural and remote reach across Canada; the examples, eligible expenses, multi-year project limit, and funding conditions were also revised, including a maximum duration of 21 months and completion by March 31, 2028. The application package and submission instructions were simplified to email-only, and the support/contact details shown on the guidelines page were updated as well.

Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Canadian not-for-profit organizations, associations, and unincorporated groups
- Non-federal Canadian public institutions such as boards of education, schools, colleges and universities, chambers of commerce, law enforcement and police agencies, hospitals and other health care institutions
- Provincial, territorial, regional and municipal governments and their agencies
- Indigenous not-for-profit organizations (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis)
- Indigenous governments, band councils and tribal councils
Who is not eligible
- Applicants who discriminate on prohibited grounds or on the basis of language
- Applicants who advocate intolerance, discrimination and/or prejudice
- Applicants that provide support to organizations or individuals that share or promote offensive content or discourse
- Applicants that undermine Canada’s Anti-Racism Strategy
- Applicants that undermine the values set out in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Human Rights Act
Eligible expenses
- Salaries, benefits, consultant fees, and rental of office space and equipment not normally used in an organization’s daily operations
- Communication, publicity, promotional material, domestic travel and accommodation, hospitality, and liability insurance
- Costs associated with organizing a conference or similar forum, including logistics, security costs, and coordination costs not already listed
- Evaluation and audit costs, facility rental and set-up costs
- Fees and expenses for speakers, performers, and artists, and administration and overhead costs up to a maximum of 15% of total project funding before administration costs
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Any type of fees for members of the board of directors or other governing bodies
- Capital costs or expenditures, including renovation expenses and computer equipment, except when essential to the successful delivery of activities
- Annual general meetings or regular executive board meetings of an organization or association, including related travel
- Costs associated with the ongoing production of newsletters, newspapers, magazines, journals, or radio and television broadcasts
- Contributions to fundraising campaigns or other fundraising events, and religious and/or politically partisan activities
Selection criteria
- Project proposals must demonstrate sustainable impacts
- Priority is given to initiatives that focus on youth or reach rural and remote locations across Canada

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are evaluated by a review committee and compared with other applications in relation to available funds
- Funding decisions and eligibility determinations are final
- If funded, a grant or contribution agreement will set the payment terms and conditions
- You may be required to submit interim reports during your project
- At the end of the project, grant recipients must submit a final activity report and/or participate in the evaluation of results, and contribution recipients must submit a final activity report and a final financial report
Additional information
- Applications are highly competitive and funding is not guaranteed.
- Only one application may be submitted per organization.
- Activities funded under other MARP components cannot be funded again for the same activities.
- Recipients must publicly acknowledge Government of Canada support in English and French.
