Eligibility criteria
The SNAPP program provides funding for northern Ontario agriculture and food producers to create innovative products, enhance productivity, and reduce ecological impact. Eligible projects can focus on new product development, productivity enhancement, and clean growth in agri-food.
- Projects must be based in northern Ontario
- Applicants must be agriculture or food producers or businesses
- Funding is available for equipment and materials that lead to innovation, productivity improvement, or environmental benefits
- Projects may fall under new products, productivity enhancement, or clean growth categories
- Individual applicants can receive up to $10,000 with a 50% cost-share
- Collaborations of 3 or more can receive up to $25,000 with a 50% cost-share

Eligible expenses

- Processing equipment for value-added products
- Packaging equipment for expanding production lines
- Innovative pest management technologies
- Precision agriculture technologies
- LED lighting for hydroponic growing
- Irrigation or rainwater harvesting systems
- Minimal or no-till equipment
- Passive solar greenhouse systems
