Who is eligible?
- Duly incorporated and registered Québec production companies
Who is not eligible
- Broadcasting companies licensed under the Broadcasting Act
- Companies that become licensees under the Broadcasting Act during the tax year of application
- Companies that held such a license during the 24 months before the tax year of application
- Companies that control, or are controlled by, a licensee under the Broadcasting Act during the tax year or the previous 24 months
- Sole proprietorships

Selection criteria
- Creative perspective: interest, originality, state of completion, narrative or discursive structure, directorial treatment, production management, team experience, and potential to reach audiences in Québec and abroad.
- Financial perspective: progress of the financial structure, amount requested in relation to the budget, diversity of financial partners, and producer investment.
- Commercialization perspective: strategies and financial resources used to ensure discoverability, accessibility, visibility, audience engagement, promotion, and distribution in Québec and abroad.
How to apply
- Submit the application through the secure online portal SOD@ccès.
- Create a user profile if you are a new user, or enter your access codes.
- Select program number 20-13-02-01 for Component 2.
- Fill out the application form and upload all required documents.
Processing and Agreement
- The evaluation process usually takes 11 to 15 weeks.
- All responses, whether positive or negative, are sent by email.
- SODEC reviews submitted proposals and communicates its decisions in a timely manner.
- Contact information should be kept up to date.

- The SOD@ccès platform and downloadable documents are in French only.
- There is no limit to the number of projects a single company can submit.

To be eligible for the SODEC — Production support – Component 2: Short fiction and documentary films program, you must:
The company and producer must have produced and brought to screen in Québec at least one relevant audiovisual work in the previous eight years, and the company must show relevant professional experience.
The project must be developed exclusively by one or more Québec companies, except minority coproductions.
Production assistance must be submitted before the first day of filming, and any SODEC development file must be closed before applying for production or postproduction assistance.
