- Businesses that are not viable or were already under financial pressure before March 1, 2020.
- Businesses receiving other federal relief support for the same expenses.

- Fixed operating costs such as rent, property taxes, utilities, and insurance.
- Wages and benefits, when not covered by other support.
- Bank charges, office supplies, vehicle operating costs, and equipment lease payments.
- Professional fees, cleaning supplies, and additional safety measures.

- Step 1: Identify the provincial Women’s Enterprise Initiative organization
- Alberta applicants apply through Alberta Women Entrepreneurs.
- Saskatchewan applicants apply through Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan Inc.
- Manitoba applicants apply through Women’s Enterprise Centre.
- Step 2: Prepare the application
- Complete the required attestation and provide the information requested by the provincial WEI organization.
- Step 3: Submit through the provincial WEI website
- Send the application online through the website of the WEI organization in your province.
- Step 4: Apply through PrairiesCan if requesting over $60,000
- Women-owned or women-led businesses requesting more than $60,000 must apply through PrairiesCan.
