Who is eligible?
- Small and medium-sized enterprises in rural British Columbia.
- Sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, social enterprises, and similar organizations.
Who is not eligible
- Businesses outside the non-metropolitan areas served by Community Futures in British Columbia.
- Businesses that already received duplicate support from another federal or provincial COVID-19 program.
- Rural businesses seeking funding through more than one of the federal COVID-19 business support programs.
Eligible expenses
- Lease payments for existing equipment and machinery.
- Wages, benefits, rent, utilities, and other fixed operating costs.
- Property taxes, bank charges, interest, office supplies, vehicle operating costs, professional fees, and monthly insurance.
Eligible geographic areas
- Non-metropolitan regions of British Columbia served by Community Futures.
How to apply
- Step 1: Contact your local Community Futures office
- Rural businesses in British Columbia were directed to apply through their local CF office or provincial CF website.
- Step 2: Submit your application
- Applications were submitted through the Community Futures application channel for eligible rural businesses.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are no longer being accepted.
- Projects must remain in good standing to keep any repayment forgiveness opportunity.
- If the loan is not repaid by the deadline, it is converted into a 2-year term loan.
