Who is not eligible

Some types of companies may not be eligible for the NNI grant. Businesses that are not registered in Nunavut or do not meet the requirements outlined in the NNI regulations may be ineligible.

  • Eligible expenses for this grant include costs related to business registration and renewal fees associated with the Nunavut Business Registration under the Nunavut Government's Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and Nunavut Implementation Contracting Policy.

Selection criteria

There are evaluation and selection criteria for this grant. Businesses must register with the NNI Secretariat to be eligible for bid adjustments when bidding on Government of Nunavut contracts. The criteria include:

  • Business registration with the NNI Secretariat
  • Renewal of registration when required
  • Eligibility for bid adjustments for Nunavut Businesses
  • Inuit Firm status registered with NTI for additional bid adjustments
  • No fees associated with registration or renewal

How to apply

  • Print the application or renewal form.
  • Complete the form and attach copies of the specified supporting documentation.
  • Sign the form.
  • Send the completed NNI application form to NNI HQ or to the relevant NNI office.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications may take up to three weeks to be processed.
  • Once approved, the business is responsible for ensuring its online profile accurately reflects its approval status, including the correct goods listing.
  • Businesses must inform the NNI Secretariat in writing of any substantial change(s) in the provided information as soon as reasonably possible.

  • No registration fee applies.
  • Registration on the NNI Business Directory is valid for two years after registration or renewal.
  • Businesses may renew at anytime.
  • Applications may take up to six weeks to be fully processed.
