Overview
Get up to $10,000 to cover 33% of the eligible costs of the versioning of existing programming of relevance to Nunavut into Inuktut, either Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun.
Financing terms and conditions
The Inuktut Versioning Fund provides financial assistance to support the versioning of existing programs relevant to Nunavut into Inuktut. Funding is provided to ensure increased access to media content in indigenous languages across various distribution channels.
- Grants cover 33% of the versioning cost, up to a maximum of $10,000 per project.
- Payments are structured in two parts: 50% upon approval and execution of a Contribution Agreement, and 50% upon receipt of a final cost report and a copy of the program.
- Any unspent funds by the end of the agreement are repayable to the Government of Nunavut.
- The grant includes conditions for record inspection and auditing by Nunavut Film and/or the Government of Nunavut.

Eligibility
Eligible geographic areas
This grant is available to companies specifically located in the Territory of Nunavut. Eligibility is focused on entities that are resident-based in Nunavut.

How to apply

Complete Application Form
- Fill out and sign the Inuktut Versioning Fund Application Form.
- Ensure all sections relevant to the applicant type are completed.

Gather Supporting Documentation
- Prepare a detailed budget and financing plan.
- Provide a copy of the distribution contract or license agreement.
- Include a copy of the program to be versioned (one episode, if part of a series).
- Attach a copy of the Applicant’s Certificate of Incorporation.
- Complete a signed Certificate of Officer (Schedule A).

Submit Application
- Send the completed application along with all supporting documents to Nunavut Film.
- Ensure that the package is complete as only fully completed applications will be processed.

Notification of Outcome
- Await email notification from Nunavut Film regarding the application decision.
- If successful, review and execute the contribution agreement.

Execution and Reporting
- Receive 50% of the grant upon approval and execution of the Contribution Agreement.
- Submit a signed final cost report and a copy of the versioned program to receive the remaining 50%.

Appeal Process
If the application is unsuccessful, consider appealing the decision in writing within 30 days of receiving the notification.
