The community-based stream now shows an open application period from June 2, 2026 to July 14, 2026 at 3:00 pm EDT, with funding of up to $50,000 for a project lasting up to 1 year. The prior closed stream showed up to $25,000 and an August 6, 2025 to September 17, 2025 deadline window, so the program timeline and funding terms have both changed materially. The applicant guide and apply pages were also rewritten: eligible organizations now shown are not-for-profit organizations, Indigenous organizations, and municipal governments, and the GCOS support contact now appears as NA-GCOS-SELSC-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca. The application decision timing is now shown as January 2027, and the application instructions now emphasize online-system support and revised post-application steps.
