Eligibility criteria of the MRC Brome-Missisquoi — RénoRégion Program (RRP) program
- The applicant must be a homeowner occupying the residence as their principal dwelling.
- The household must have low or modest income.
- The residence must be located in an eligible area, which includes municipalities with less than 15,000 inhabitants, municipalities in the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region, or municipalities with 15,000 inhabitants or more but not served by water or sewer systems.
- The residence cannot be in the cities of Gatineau and Laval, or the agglomerations of Longueuil, Montréal, and Québec.
- The residence must not be located in northern villages or indigenous reserves.
- The building must have no more than two housing units, including the owner's unit.
- The property's value must be below the maximum standardized value set by the local municipality or MRC, not exceeding $150,000.
- An inspector accredited by the SHQ must confirm the presence of a major defect in the residence.
- The renovations must address major deficiencies in specific elements such as exterior walls, openings, projections, roofing, structure, electricity, plumbing, heating, or thermal insulation.
- Renovations must be conducted by a contractor with a valid license from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.
- Authorization for the renovations must be obtained from the municipality or MRC before commencing work.
