Eligibility
Who is eligible?
The Green Jobs Program is open to organizations that can deliver job placements or training opportunities focused on clean technology and innovation in the mining sector, benefiting Canada's environment. Eligible applicants include:- Mining employers- Technology companies- Non-profit organizations- Indigenous organizations or governments- Municipal governments- Academic institutionsThese organizations must be able to provide work placements of up to 12 months for job-ready youth, including Indigenous youth, youth with disabilities, and those in Northern and Remote areas.
Eligible expenses
Eligible expenses for the MiHR’s Green Jobs Program include costs related to participant compensation and training.
- Participant wages.
- Mandatory Employment Related Costs (MERCs), such as Employment Insurance (EI) and Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions, and vacation pay.
- Training and placement related costs.

- Hiring organizations need to complete a "Participation Information Form" for starting the placement.
