Eligible projects & activities
The International Promotion Program facilitates the international presence and visibility of Canadian media projects through various promotional activities. Eligible projects focus on participation in international festivals, forums, and the execution of promotion campaigns.

Eligibility criteria of the International Promotion Program program
Eligibility for this grant is determined by specific requirements related to the applicant's profile and activities.
- The applicant must be a Canadian-owned and controlled company.
- Eligible companies include those specializing in production and distribution and sales agencies of Canadian feature-length or short films (drama or documentary), television series, or XR projects.
- Production companies must be invited to take part in a coproduction forum.
- Companies must be invited by Telefilm to participate in one of its international initiatives.
- The project must be a Canadian short or feature-length film, a TV series, or an extended reality project (XR) selected for a recognized international festival.
- The project must be an eligible coproduction project recognized by the Minister of Canadian Heritage.
Who is eligible?
Canadian-owned and controlled companies specializing in production and distribution, as well as sales agencies of Canadian feature-length or short films, television series, or XR projects, are eligible to apply. Additionally, production companies invited to participate in a coproduction forum, and companies invited by Telefilm Canada to participate in its international initiatives, can apply. Eligible projects include Canadian short or feature-length films, TV series, or extended reality projects selected for recognized international festivals or those recognized as eligible coproduction projects by the Minister of Canadian Heritage.
