Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Projects led by industry without an academic researcher in a key role

Form Interdisciplinary Challenge Teams (ICTs)

Implication: Researchers and users must collaborate to devise innovative genomic solutions for climate change mitigation and action.

Develop Data Coordination Centre (DCC)

Implication: Establish standards, protocols, methods, tools, and resources for data management and sharing between projects.

Establish Knowledge Mobilization and Implementation Coordination Centre (KMICC)

Implication: Provide technical, administrative, and coordinating support for knowledge mobilization and implementation activities across the portfolio.

Prepare Funding Proposals

Implication: Submit detailed proposals for ICTs, DCC, and KMICC, with required co-funding.

Secure Co-funding

Implication: Ensure partnerships with industry, governments, or other funders to meet the co-funding requirements.

Processing and Agreement

  • LOIs are checked for eligibility by Genome Canada.
  • Full proposals are reviewed by independent experts and then by the Core Evaluation Team.
  • Selected teams are invited to present to the evaluation team.
  • Funding decisions are based on review results and program objectives.
  • Reporting continues during the project, with regular progress reports and a final report required.
