Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Active Magazines BC members
  • Magazines Canada members headquartered in British Columbia

Who is not eligible

  • Publishing companies without BC headquarters
  • Applicants not in good standing with Creative BC

Eligible expenses

  • Per diem, accommodation, registration fees, return airfare, and ground transportation
  • Design and printing of marketing materials
  • Limited overhead costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Expenses without receipts
  • Complimentary registration or travel provided by event organizers

  • First come, first served review
  • Activities must meet program standards and objectives
  • Events must be deemed eligible by Creative BC

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare application materials
    • Gather your company profile, event slate, delegate bios, and publishing materials.
    • Include the required funding agreement if you are not a Magazines BC voting or associate member.
  • Step 2: Submit the application
    • Apply through Creative BC using the program application process.
    • Provide the requested supporting information for review.
  • Step 3: Wait for review and decision
    • Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis.
    • Only eligible activities approved by Creative BC can be funded.
  • Step 4: Complete reporting after attendance
    • Submit the Final Report after attending the event.
    • Include the required narrative and cost information with supporting receipts and invoices.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed in order of receipt
  • Creative BC decides whether activities are eligible
  • Approved applicants receive payment after the Final Report is submitted
  • Failure to submit the Final Report may result in forfeiture of funds

  • Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis.
  • Eligible events include pre-approved market events listed by Creative BC.
  • Applications may include attendance at events retroactive to April 1, 2024.
  • Successful applicants must submit a Final Report after the event.
