Overview
The program offers financial support to eligible not-for-profit organizations facing risks of hate-motivated crimes. Approved projects can receive up to 50% of total project costs, not exceeding $100,000. The funding aims to enhance security infrastructure of places like places of worship, private educational institutions, and community centers.
Activities funded
- Implementation of security infrastructure projects such as surveillance systems, access controls, and safety enhancements for targeted community sites.

Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Not-for-profit organizations at risk of hate-motivated crimes, including places of worship, private educational institutions, and community centers.
Who is not eligible
- Public sector entities, Crown corporations, for-profit organizations, and individuals.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Projects or activities not related to security infrastructure improvements.
- For-profit organizations or Crown Corporations.
- Expenses incurred before project approval or after project completion date.
- Activities not aligned with the purpose of reducing vulnerability to hate crimes.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are allocated or the deadline is reached.
- Decisions are communicated within approximately four months after application receipt.
- Approved projects must be completed, and all funds spent by March 31, 2024.
