  • Indigenous ad hoc committees for specific projects
  • Indigenous-led institutions (including accredited programs)

Who is not eligible

  • Private individuals and political parties.
  • Federal government organizations, their institutions, and portfolio agencies.
  • Non-Indigenous organizations that do not have a letter of support from an Indigenous organization.

Eligible expenses

  • Project management expenses (including project manager, consultant and professional fees, researcher, technology support).
  • Honoraria (such as Elders, Knowledge Keepers, speakers).
  • Artistic expenses (artist and performer fees, Master of Ceremony, design costs).
  • Planning and activity expenses (event venue, production and logistics, supplies, equipment rental, decoration).
  • Marketing and communications expenses (including translation in English, French, and Indigenous languages).
  • Merchandise and giveaway expenses (such as orange t-shirts, commemorative pins), limited to 25% of the amount requested.
  • Administrative expenses (including salaries, benefits, mailing, printing, photocopying), limited to 15% of the amount requested.
  • Hospitality expenses (ceremonial and traditional foods, beverages, plates, utensils, and napkins).
  • Travel within Canada (local transportation, accommodation, and meals).

  • All geographical areas across Canada.

  • Applications must be received by January 23, 2025, 11:59 p.m. local time.
  • Only one application per organization is permitted per deadline.
  • Funding priority may be given to Indigenous organizations and geographically diverse projects.
