To be eligible for certification by the Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) as an LGBTQ business enterprise, the applicant business must meet the following criteria: 1. Operate in Canada 2. Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident 3. Be able to operate as a supplier of products or services to other businesses 4. Be a for-profit enterprise 5. Be substantially owned, operated, and controlled by LGBTQ individuals For the purpose of certification, this means: - The business must be at least 51% owned and operated by self-identified LGBTQ individuals (self-identification is corroborated and verified) - In the case of publicly-owned businesses, at least 51% of the company’s shares would have to be owned by one or more individuals meeting the same LGBTQ ownership criteria - The management and daily operations of these businesses must be controlled by LGBTQ individuals These criteria are essential for businesses seeking certification through CGLCC to demonstrate their LGBTQ ownership and alignment with the chamber's certification standards.

An eligible company is an independent business that is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by one or more members of the LGBTQ community, whose business formation and principal place of business are in Canada OR they are majority owned, managed, and controlled by one or more members of the LGBTQ community who are Canadian citizens or lawful permanent residents. Your taxes MUST be paid in order for your company to receive and retain your CGLCC certification.
