Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Incorporated high-growth businesses that have been operating in the Prairie Provinces for a minimum of 2 years.
- Legal entities capable of entering into legally binding agreements.
Who is not eligible
- Unincorporated businesses
- Businesses without staffed operating facilities in the Prairie provinces
- Businesses focused on basic or applied R&D only (TRL 1–6)

- Labour (wages, benefits)
- Marketing costs
- Intellectual property-related costs
- Technology development and commercial demonstrations
- Professional, advisory, and technical service fees

Selection criteria
- EOIs with the strongest merit and alignment with program objectives, priority areas, and significant economic benefits may be invited to complete a full application.
- Applications are evaluated on economic impact, project viability, market potential, management capability, financial capacity, economic benefits, and degree of alignment with departmental, regional, and governmental priorities.
How to apply
- Prepare to complete your expression of interest by following the steps listed in the Before you apply section.
- Login to the PrairiesCan portal.
- Complete the EOI form using the BSP EOI help guide.
- Attach the required documents.
- Submit the EOI form through the PrairiesCan portal.
Processing and Agreement
- If your application is approved, you will be invited to enter into a contribution agreement with PrairiesCan.
- The contribution agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the payments towards the project.
- The contribution agreement must be signed within 30 days of you being notified.
- The contribution agreement cannot be signed until all funding sources are confirmed.
- You must provide periodic progress reports at least twice per year, annual financial statements from project start date to the end of the repayment period, and track and report on key project activities and deliverables up to the final reporting date.

- Continuous intake: expressions of interest (EOIs) are accepted on an ongoing basis.
- Before submitting an EOI, applicants are encouraged to consult the BSP EOI help guide and the BSP applicant guide.
- Applicants are encouraged to report on efforts to support inclusiveness (e.g., participation of underrepresented groups).
- One successful project per organization per calendar year.
