- Saskatchewan self-publishers
- Saskatchewan publishers working with Saskatchewan authors

- Political organizations or parties
- Religious organizations
- Organizations that discriminate on protected grounds
- Applicants for titles without complete and independent editorial control
- Projects already funded by SK Arts or SaskCulture
Eligible expenses
- Production expenses directly related to the project
- Author and illustrator advances
- Marketing expenses, up to 25% of each title’s budget
- Eligible travel expenses under the program travel policy
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Activities already funded by SK Arts or SaskCulture
- Author and illustrator royalties
- Capital expenditures and in-kind expenses
- Print-on-demand production and shipping costs for distribution
- Titles without full editorial control, or by political, religious, or discriminatory organizations

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are first reviewed by Creative Saskatchewan staff for completeness and eligibility.
- Eligible applications are then assessed through an external review process.
- Applicants are notified by email and through the Grant Management System.
- Approved applicants receive a Letter of Commitment that must be signed by both parties.
- Funding is released only after the agreement is executed and any conditions are met.
Additional information
- Applications must be submitted through Creative Saskatchewan’s online Grant Management System.
- Successful recipients must include Creative Saskatchewan’s logo in the book and on promotional materials.
- Applications may be rejected if incomplete or if ineligible expenses exceed 50% of the project budget.
