Eligibility
- The applicant must be a Canadian registered or incorporated arts organization.
- The organization must represent Canadian artists and actively seek new opportunities in the Canadian arts market.
- Eligible applicant types include support groups, organizations and shared platforms, magazine publishers, agencies, management service organizations, and art dealers.
- The project must involve travel within Canada of at least 300 kilometres from the point of departure to promote or represent Canadian artists through a contractual relationship or to build on an existing tour (for artists’ representatives).

Who is not eligible
- Companies or organizations that are not registered or incorporated as Canadian arts organizations.
- Businesses that do not represent Canadian artists or do not regularly seek out new opportunities in the Canadian arts market.
- Organizations applying for activities that have already received funding from another Canada Council program.
- Applicants intending to fund activities that occur before the application deadline date.
- Projects that fall under the general list of ineligible activities as defined by the Canada Council.
Eligible expenses
- Transportation costs (based on fixed amounts)
- Accommodation and per diem (up to 5 days per trip)
- Additional shipping or baggage costs directly related to the activity (up to $2,500)
- Conference fees and booth rental costs for market development events
Eligible geographic areas
- Travel within Canada is eligible, with destinations at least 300 kilometres from the point of departure.
Selection criteria
- Impact (40%): The potential of the project to develop and enhance the national profiles of the artists represented and to generate future opportunities. Minimum score required: 25 out of 40.
- Relevance (40%): The rationale for the project, including its timeliness and suitability, and the suitability of the event or involvement of partners or host organizations. Minimum score required: 25 out of 40.
- Feasibility (20%): The capacity and experience of the applicant and partners/host organizations to undertake the project, and the reasonableness of the proposed budget. Minimum score required: 10 out of 20.
How to apply

Register in the Portal
- Create an account in the application portal at least 30 days before you wish to apply.
- Submit one or more profiles for validation to determine eligibility.

Prepare Application
- Review the grant guidelines, application form, and budget forms provided.
- Draft your project proposal, ensuring to cover the project's impact, relevance, and feasibility.
- Prepare a detailed budget including eligible expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and other costs.
- Compile lists of represented artists, and gather letters of invitation or written confirmations related to the events and partners.

Complete Application Form
- Log into the portal and access the official application form.
- Provide a descriptive name for the application and a summary of the project.
- Fill out the required fields including travel dates, activity type, and descriptions of the project and its significance.
- Ensure all necessary documents and appendices are attached, such as the list of artists, budget document, and invitation letters.

Review and Submit
- Carefully review the entire application to check for completeness and accuracy.
- Submit the application through the portal before your planned departure date.

Confirmation and Follow-Up
- Receive confirmation of submission from the portal.
- If the application is successful, complete the Grant Acceptance Form to initiate grant payment.
- Prepare to submit a final report within 3 months of completing the project.
Additional information
- Applicants must register in the online portal and have their profile validated at least 30 days before applying.
- Application submissions are allowed up to four times per year, with a maximum annual grant amount of $30,000.
- All grant recipients are required to submit a final report within three months after project completion.
- Letters of invitation or confirmation and a detailed list of represented artists must be included in the application.
