Grant and Funding Programs Offered by The Stein Family Foundation (SFF)

The Stein Family Foundation is a private charitable foundation that provides direct financial support to graduating high school students through its ASPIRE award program. Unlike traditional scholarship programs that focus primarily on academic excellence, the foundation specifically targets students who possess unique skills, talents, or capabilities but may not qualify for existing school scholarships.

The ASPIRE program is designed to recognize and encourage talented students in diverse areas including sports, trades, visual and performing arts, manufacturing, and academic studies. Students must be in their final year of high school with a minimum anticipated average of 70% or equivalent, and have been accepted into an accredited post-secondary program. The award funds must be applied toward further education at an accredited institution or for the purchase of equipment and supplies to support such studies.

The program is currently available at select schools within the Greater Essex County District School Board in Ontario, Canada. The foundation works directly with schools, encouraging them to form selection committees of teachers and staff to identify candidates. The number of awards available at each school is determined based on school enrollment and existing scholarship programs.

The foundation maintains transparency by posting annual award winners on its website, including student names, photos, areas of study, and intended career paths. The nomination process is managed through schools, and all information submitted is kept strictly confidential.
