Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Rotaract Club of Victoria Foundation

Rotaract Club of Victoria Foundation is the philanthropic arm associated with the Rotaract Club of Victoria, a youth‑led service club connected to Rotary International. Based in the Greater Victoria region of British Columbia, the foundation focuses on recognizing and supporting young people who exemplify Rotary values of community service, leadership and “Service Above Self”.

The foundation provides financial support primarily through a scholarship program aimed at graduating secondary school students on Vancouver Island. The 2022 Rotaract Club of Victoria Foundation Scholarship offers a single award of $500 to help recipients pursue post‑secondary education at institutions in British Columbia, with preference for local universities and colleges such as the University of Victoria and Camosun College.

Funding is targeted to young leaders who have shown sustained volunteer engagement, community impact and alignment with Rotary’s areas of focus, including peacebuilding, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, education, community economic development and environmental protection.

Applicants must be enrolled in a Vancouver Island secondary school, be completing their BC Certificate of Graduation, and have been accepted to a BC post‑secondary program. Selection is made at the discretion of the Rotaract Club of Victoria Foundation Board, based on the strength of the candidate’s volunteer record, demonstrated leadership and their description of community impact.

The scholarship is paid directly to the recipient’s post‑secondary institution by cheque, reinforcing that funds are used to support formal education. The foundation reserves the right to verify information and to reassess or cancel awards if conditions are not met.

Through its scholarship, the Rotaract Club of Victoria Foundation supports youth transitioning from high school to higher education, particularly those who have contributed significantly to their communities. By highlighting volunteerism, leadership and Rotary‑related service, the foundation encourages ongoing civic engagement and fosters the next generation of community‑minded leaders in the Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island region.
