Rôle de Hamilton Community Foundation dans l'écosystème du financement

Hamilton Community Foundation (HCF) est une fondation communautaire caritative qui sert la région de Hamilton, en Ontario. En tant que membre de Community Foundations of Canada, elle fait partie d'un réseau de plus de 200 fondations communautaires canadiennes. Son rôle principal consiste à rassembler les dons caritatifs des donateurs pour créer des fonds dotaux et à utiliser les revenus de placement pour octroyer des subventions aux organismes communautaires.

Programmes de financement et domaines d'intervention

HCF offre plusieurs programmes de financement :
  • Le Fonds communautaire : Le fonds principal de la fondation, ayant accordé plus de 1,7 million de dollars l'an dernier aux organismes de bienfaisance locaux.
  • SCAFFOLD : Initiative majeure pour le logement abordable avec un engagement de 50 millions de dollars sur 10 ans. Plus de 13 millions de dollars sont actuellement investis dans le secteur du logement abordable.

  • Investissements d'impact : Portefeuille totalisant 62,9 millions de dollars, incluant des investissements locaux, nationaux et mondiaux.

Transparence et reddition de comptes

La fondation publie ses états financiers vérifiés, maintient une politique d'investissement responsable conforme aux facteurs ESG, et dépose chaque année un rapport T3010 à l'Agence du revenu du Canada. Les rapports finals des bénéficiaires de subventions sont exigés et supervisés par le personnel de la fondation.
