British Columbia’s multiculturalism and anti-racism grant activity adds targeted equity funding to the community funding ecosystem. The program supports registered nonprofits and other eligible organizations with projects that build intercultural interaction, trust, and understanding, or challenge racism, hate, and systemic barriers. This funding matters because anti-racism work often requires local trust, cultural knowledge, and capacity inside racialized and marginalized communities, yet those organizations may have limited access to flexible project dollars. By focusing annual grant cycles on community-based prevention, education, and capacity building, the province helps turn equity commitments into funded activities. The program also broadens the funding landscape beyond service delivery alone by supporting public participation, dialogue, anti-hate work, and community resilience.
