Eligibility
- The applicant must be an individual aged 18 to 35 who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Quebec, or a resident of a targeted Francophone country undertaking a project in Quebec.
- The applicant must be actively engaged in the fight against climate change and wish to carry out a project in one of the targeted Francophone countries most vulnerable to climate change (especially Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, or the Antilles), or, for international Francophone applicants, in Quebec.
- The project must be submitted under one of the following programs: Career Development, Civic Engagement, or Student Mobility.
- The application must be submitted at least 45 days (for Quebec residents) or 3 months (for Francophone applicants from abroad) before the planned departure date.

- Organizations active in energy efficiency and renewable energy
- Initiatives related to sustainable water management and circular economy
Eligible expenses
- Transportation expenses related to the project.
- Additional allowances for project implementation costs.
- Supplemental transportation allowance for applicants residing in remote regions of Quebec.

- Review eligibility criteria, including age, citizenship or residency in Quebec, and engagement in climate change initiatives
- Identify the projects or activities eligible under the Education and Awareness stream
- Determine if your project is within the prioritized francophone countries or in Quebec

Choose program and specify project
- Select the appropriate program for your submission: Career Development, Civic Engagement, or Student Mobility
- Clearly indicate in your project description that it is part of the Youth Initiative to Combat Climate Change

Prepare necessary documents
- Gather the required documents as per the guidelines of the selected program
- If not all documents are available, you may still submit the project, but more complete applications will be prioritized if there is a quota

Respect application deadlines
- Ensure you submit your project at least 45 days (for Quebec residents) or 3 months (for other Francophones) prior to your departure date
- Take into consideration the time needed to obtain a passport and/or visa, if required

Submit your application
- Submit your financial support application through the appropriate channel
- You may also apply for turnkey projects if you do not have a personal project
Additional information
- If you do not have all required documents at the time of application, you may still submit your project to meet the deadline; however, applications that are more complete may be given priority if quotas are in place.
- Applicants must specify in their project description that their initiative is part of the Youth Initiative to Combat Climate Change.
- Applicants can consult turnkey projects developed in collaboration with partner organizations if they do not have a project idea.
- The implementation of the initiative is supported by both LOJIQ and the Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable, with coordination by the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie (MRIF) and financing from the Fonds d’électrification et de changements climatiques.
