- High water-use industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) businesses.
- Industrial, commercial (including mixed use) or institutional properties.
- New residential high-rise buildings four stories or higher.
Who is not eligible
- Businesses located outside York Region.
Eligible expenses
- Upgrading to water-efficient systems and equipment.
- Eligible water-saving retrofits.
- Replacing inefficient equipment with new water-efficient equipment.
- Projects that reduce risks to municipal drinking water sources.
Eligible geographic areas
- York Region.
- Wellhead Protection Areas A through C.
- A Regional Centre in accordance with Official Plan policies.
- An approved Community/Secondary Plan along those segments of Yonge Street, Highway 7 and Davis Drive identified as a Regional Corridor in the Official Plan policies.
- An approved Local Centre and/or Local Corridor, within the local official plan.
Selection criteria
- Some funding is on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to the availability of annual program funding.
