Overview

This City of Trois-Rivières grant provides up to $500,000 (100% of eligible actual costs) to help make formerly industrial sites developable by funding the management and disposal of contaminated soil and dry materials, subject to available funds. Eligible activities include qualified work to manage and dispose of contaminated soils and dry materials according to applicable standards.

Eligibility

  • The project must involve work to manage and dispose of contaminated soil and dry materials to make the land developable in accordance with applicable standards.
  • The site must be located within the program’s eligible area (the portion of the “first neighbourhoods” subject to a PIIA), as defined in the program by-law.
  • The applicant must submit an application/registration form and provide the required site and project information (e.g., cadastral designation, current and future activity, site area).
  • The application must be filed with the City of Trois-Rivières and include the non-refundable $100 file-opening fee.

  • City of Trois-Rivières, Quebec (sites located within the “premiers quartiers” area covered by the PIIA).

Selection criteria

  • Processing of applications according to the date of registration.
  • In the event of a tie or when the file is complete: processing according to the order in which complete files are received.
  • Awarding of the assistance subject to budget availability (until the allocated funds are exhausted) and to the regulations in force.

Confirm eligibility and scope

  • Confirm the project concerns a site with an industrial activity history and requires work to manage and dispose of contaminated soil and dry materials
  • Ensure the work will make the land developable according to applicable standards
  • Verify eligibility criteria, eligible work and the program territory in the applicable by-law (PIIA “Redéveloppement des premiers quartiers”)

Complete the registration form

  • Download and complete the registration form for Stream III (Management and disposal of contaminated soil and dry materials)
  • Fill in applicant and representative details, and briefly describe the construction project
  • Provide land information: cadastral designation, address (if available), current and future activity, total area

Pay the $100 file fee

  • Prepare a non-refundable cheque for $100 to cover the file opening and review fees

Mail the application package

  • Track processing: applications are handled by registration date, then by order of arrival once the file is complete
