- Document establishing the mandate of any person acting on the applicant’s behalf, if applicable.
- Plans establishing the occupation area and the existing or projected interior layout of the commerce de proximité, if applicable.
- Copy of the lease offer.
- Declaration of rent cost and the lease for the previous year or the last lease.
Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Owners, tenants, and owner-occupants of eligible local premises within the territory of application.
Who is not eligible
- Buildings located on land subject to a public reserve or expropriation proceedings.
- Buildings occupied or intended to be occupied exclusively by an establishment covered by the Act respecting health services and social services.
- Buildings owned by the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec, or an organization under either government, or receiving ongoing funding from either government under another program.
- Wholesale establishments, restaurants, bars, and any use that does not meet the definition of a commerce de proximité.
Eligible expenses
- Related costs for the occupation of a commerce de proximité.
- Signage work on the main façade or façades of the building.
Eligible geographic areas
- Rue Fusey, up to Rue Saint-Laurent; Boulevard Sainte-Madeleine, between Rue Saint-Laurent and Rue de la Madone; Boulevard Thibeau, between the limits of the urban perimeter of the Saint-Louis-de-France sector.
Selection criteria
- Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocated funds are exhausted.
How to apply
- Complete and sign the application form.
- Attach the required supporting documents.
- Pay the $100 file-opening fee when filing the application.
Processing and Agreement
- The City reviews the application, verifies the plans and occupation details, and may require additional documents.
- If work is needed before occupation, it must be carried out by a contractor holding the appropriate RBQ licence.
- The City sends an acceptance notice for approved applications.
- To receive the subsidy, the applicant must sign the owner-occupant or tenant commitment.
- If the building is transferred before the subsidy is paid, the new owner inherits the same rights and obligations, and the seller must notify the City before the transfer.
