Overview

This funding offers up to $20,000 to support peer-led positive actions that reduce HIV-related stigma in communities across Canada. Supported activities include implementing and evaluating interventions that change attitudes and behaviours, shift stigmatizing policies or practices, and improve access to culturally safe, stigma-free services for people living with HIV.

Eligibility

  • The project must focus on reducing HIV-related stigma through peer-led interventions or positive actions.
  • The team must be associated with an organization or institution able to hold and administer the funds.
  • The team must include one or more people living with HIV (peers) in a leadership role.
  • The project must aim to meet one or more of the program’s stated goals related to HIV stigma reduction and/or improved access to culturally safe services.

Who is eligible?

  • Teams associated with an organization or institution willing to hold and administer funds
  • Community-based teams leading HIV stigma reduction interventions

Who is not eligible

  • Teams without an associated organization or institution to hold and administer funds
  • Teams without a person living with HIV (peer) in a leadership role

Selection criteria

How to apply

Step 1: Confirm team setup
  • Ensure the team is associated with an organization or institution that can hold and administer funds.
  • Ensure one or more people living with HIV (peers) are in leadership roles.
Step 2: Prepare submission
  • Draft a proposal describing the peer-led positive action and its stigma reduction goals.
  • Include how the team will implement and evaluate the positive action.
Step 3: Submit application
  • Send the submission by email to the program contact provided.
  • Submit before the published deadline (January 16, 2026).

Processing and Agreement

  • Funding results will be announced no later than February 27.
