Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • National Sport Organizations
  • National Multisport Services Organizations

Who is not eligible

  • Organizations not incorporated as a not-for-profit
  • Organizations that do not meet the definition of an NSO or MSO
  • Applicants already approved for Sport Canada Core funding for 2026-2027
  • Organizations whose activities are focused on motorized sports, games of skill, e-sports, or other listed non-eligible activities

Eligible expenses

  • Administrative and operational costs
  • Official languages costs, including interpretation, translation, and language training
  • Salaries, fees, benefits, and professional development for staff and coaches
  • Governance, training, legal, and strategic planning costs
  • Program delivery, travel, equipment, research, and competition-related costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Athlete awards and prize money
  • Capital expenditures
  • Fundraising and gift cards
  • Litigation costs, unless specifically allowed
  • Medals, trophies, banquets, and sponsor servicing
