Ontario Seniors Dental Care eligibility and contact update
The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program page now shows higher income requirements starting August 1, 2026: $25,480 or less for single seniors and $42,290 or less for senior couples, and it adds a note that applicants can apply starting July 1, 2026 to be assessed under the new requirements. York Region’s Seniors Dental Program page also adds a safety notice warning that York Region will never request a SIN by phone, email, or text, and it provides a direct callback number for suspected fraud contacts: 1-877-464-9675.

Who is eligible?
- Low-income seniors in Ontario who are 65 years of age or older
- Senior couples, including couples where one or both people are 65 years of age or older
Who is not eligible
- Applicants who have other dental benefits, including private insurance or dental coverage under Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, or Non-Insured Health Benefits, except the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
Eligible expenses
- Routine dental services, including check-ups, preventive care, x-rays, restorative treatment, oral surgery, anesthesia, and gum or infection treatment
- Partial coverage for dentures and other dental prosthetics

How to apply
- Step 1: Choose an application method
- Apply online or by mail.
- Use the guarantor form if you do not have a SIN or did not file taxes.
- Step 2: Complete the application
- Enter applicant and spouse information, if applicable.
- Sign the required sections and provide consent.
- Step 3: Submit the application
- Send the completed form to the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program by mail or submit it online.
- Step 4: Await review and decision
- You will be contacted if there are issues with the application.
- If approved, you will receive a welcome package and dental card by mail.
